It is recommended that you create an Endnote Online account (see instruction on Endnote Online Library Guide) even if you do not intend to use it.If you write papers in collaboration with other researchers, or share EndNote libraries, it is essential that all collaborators use a compatible version of EndNote or use Endnote Online.Use the compressed library feature to email your library to yourself a colleague as backup if required.Delete the old EndNote folders from your hard drive. If you still require these files move them to the Endnote X9 Styles, Connections or Filters folder. If you still require these files, move them to the Endnote X8 Styles, Connections or Filters folder. Please check C:\Program Files\EndNote X9 (or previous folder)\Styles (or C:\\Program Files (x86)\Endnote X9\Styles on USC computers) orĬonnections or Filters.If you have edited styles or downloaded USC styles (such as Harvard), filters or connection files these may be kept in a previous EndNote folder on the hard drive.Libraries created in X9.3 are fully compatible with the new Endnote 20.
When prompted, and it's you own computer, update to Endnote X9.3.3 which is the latest and last update for X9. The USC software will install Endnote X9.0 or X9.1.Uninstall previous versions before installing EndNote X9.EndNote version 8 and above libraries are compatible with EndNote X9.Before upgrading it is important you back up any of your libraries, custom styles, filters or connection files.
